Experience
After completing his medical education from one of the best medical colleges of the country, Armed Forces Medical College, he completed his Masters in General Surgery from the extremely busy PGIMER, Chandigarh. He then joined his M.Ch. in Urology and Kidney Transplant from the best Urology residency program of India at Sanjay Gandhi PGI in Lucknow where he trained extensively in world class infrastructure. He visited the Tata Memorial Hospital briefly as an observing fellow in 2020 and his keen interest in cancers of the urological systems spurred him to continue working as a Post Doctoral Fellow in Uro-oncology at Sanjay Gandhi PGI, Lucknow where he worked exclusively diagnosing, managing and treating cancers of the prostate, kidneys, bladders, penis and testes. He then worked as an Assistant Professor in Department of Urology at AIIMS, Jodhpur doing high volume open, laparoscopic and robotic surgeries for urological malignancies. Always aiming to go the extra step, he finally got a coveted spot as Senior Fellow in Robotic Prostate Cancer surgeries at The Royal Marsden Hospital in London. The Royal Marsden Hospital is the world’s oldest cancer hospital and is the seat of cutting edge research in urological cancers, some of which has changed the way cancer care is practiced the world over. There he trained under Dr Declan Cahill, who is one of the UK’s highest volume robotic prostate cancer surgeons and Dr Omer Karim, one of Intuitive Surgical’s busiest robotic surgery proctors, for a year. His desire to bring cutting edge uro-oncological care and robotic surgery services to the people of his native region spurred him to come back to Odisha in 2024.
